+39 347 550 48 22Aristanis was the ancient name with which today's Oristano was identified, a land rich in culture and always a strategic landing place for numerous Mediterranean cultures since the Neolithic. You will discover the streets of the historic center and the ruins of its ancient walls built during the Middle Ages, when its territory was known as the Giudicato (Kingdom) of Arborea and its historical vicissitudes were intertwined with the Viscontis, the Aragonese and the other Giudici of Sardinia. This territory was the
cradle of the Carta de Logu, an ancient Sardinian constitution at the forefront of its time throughout Europe. Moving a little further south, you will visit the Museum of the Giants of Monte Prama, found in Cabras and now the destination of numerous new excavations.
You will reach the coast to visit another archaeological site of enormous historical importance, Tharros, refuge first for the Phoenicians and later for the Romans who made it an unmissable place for those who love history. Before returning, a visit to a small town awaits you, the Village of San Salvatore on the Sinis Peninsula which, due to its characteristic architecture, has been used as a set for numerous western films.
